As you all no doubt know by now, the Hilux Club is no longer affiliated to ORRA with effect from end of this month. This means that all ORRA memberships will cease as from month-end and the radio licences that were registered with ORRA will now fall away.

The Club now has its own VHF radio frequencies which are exactly the same as the ORRA channels except we have two additional radio channels for sole Club use. All paid-up members of the Club will receive the VHF radio licence authorisation upon application as per the first post in the sticky in this section.

ORRA will be sending the list of cancelled radio members to ICASA and I update our list of qualified VHF radio users to ICASA on a monthly basis. Rina from ORRA has sent me the list of names of people who had registered through the Club for an ORRA Radio Licence. On this list there are still some 70 people who have not yet taken advantage of the free VHF Radio communications licence that we are offering.

Please register your radio details into the Club database - no serial numbers are required so you do not have to remove the radio to check for this. As soon as you have done so AND received your HC number that is automatically generated upon registration, please download, complete and save the PDF form before returning it to me ASAP and you will receive the free authorisation and become a legal radio user.

So gou as jy jou radios registreer, word die HC nommer outamaties (old tomatoes? ) ge-generate. Sonder die nommer, kan ons nie die lisensie proses nie, dit word 'old tomatoes' gedoen deur die databasis.

Just a quick one. You refer to two extra channels... are those the Hilux "Toned" channels?

Yes indeed sire! Was a thought to apply for a fourth frequency but not really necessary, I think there are enough channels available now.

I've resent your LoA to the email address with which you registered, please check if you have received same.

I hope you did not pay directly to ORRA as well, this is no longer required as you are licenced through the Club.

Just to be of assistance, I have sent you a LOA, Louis.

Guys, unfortunately the re-issuing of the LoA letters is not an automated process, maybe our web developer can look at this when and if he has some spare time available, So this will not happen unless you specifically request it, as I would have no idea when your membership is up for renewal. So best is to simply send a request and one of us will do so with pleasure.

Ja, I am HC 200, but have never received any sort of license, although I am paid up.

Andrew, the reason for non-receipt of your licence is as I stated in the post immediately above yours. It is unfortunately not an automated process.

I have forwarded a copy to the email address as registered on the forum/club.

Thabo, the VHF licence comes at no charge to Club Members, as long as your Club Membership remains valid.

As far as I know, you should get a letter informing you of the Club membership renewal when it is time to do so. Otherwise, just log into the www.hiluxclub.co.za and check your profile.

Nope, only for Radio Amateurs, not for Commercial users.
