Hi,
I recently fitted an Perfect Power fuel tuner to my 2.7. The problem that I am experiencing is that the vehicle is now using more fuel than before!! I have read in one of the posts that a lot is "blamed" on the use of the MAP sensor. Has anyone had anything similar done to their vehicles?, and with what result!
Any ideas, feedback would be appreciated!

Welcome again Chris (member # 3000)
Someone out there with more ECU knowledge is bound to assist, but perhaps in the meantime you might like to post something about yourself and your vehicle in "Welcome" (index page) by way of introduction. I did mention that there are a number of forum members in PE, and they will pick up on your intro as well. Hope you enjoy the forum experience with us.

Re: Perfect Power FT40 Fuel Tuner
Thank you. I will write something on the wall! Searching the net revealed a bit about the 3RZ-FE engines, and there is quite a bit of people that is experiencing the facelifted model less economical. Would be interested to hear if someone found a way in "cheating" the system! (With or without an aftermarket gadget!)
Also it was interesting to see the one post where the owner experienced his 2.7 lighter on fuel at the reef than at the coast!

Chris
The pre facelift models are definitely more economical, the best oke to speak to on the forum about what works and what not is Willem (3RZ), but my guess is that you ECU is badly mapped.

Thanks Bennie,
I have a meeting with with Garth from Perfect Power next week, he will be spending the day here in P.E!, so hopefully I will have it sorted!
I was there for the whole map, must say that the setup was done properly, just something not "jelling"!
Will keep everyone posted on the outcome!

Re: Perfect Power FT40 Fuel Tuner
Hi all,
Met up with Garth Friday last week and went through the system. All working now, found that there was a wiring "conflict", left for Plet on saturday to do a bit of economy test, glad to report that is has already made a big change. I ran it at a steady 140, clock speed, and used 39lt over 250km, previously quite a bit more.
Doing some changes this week and will be able to give a better breakdown on fuel consumption. needless to say that I am feeling that all is coming together!!
