New 4x4 eco-trail in Karoo National Park

Post by pietpetoors »

I just received this notification in the Wild Card newsletter:
Off-road enthusiasts will be happy to know that there are two new 4x4 trails in the Karoo National Park. The trails provide a unique opportunity for visitors to experience untouched areas of the 90 000-hectare park. The relatively easy Nuweveld Trail follows a 90-kilometre route meandering through riverine thicket and open plains before climbing onto the foothills of the Nuweveld Mountains where you can stay overnight in the Embizweni Cottage and enjoy the views of grazing wildlife. The shorter Afsaal trail is more technical and offers a challenging drive in wet conditions. See the latest Wild for 10 top 4x4 routes to take in parks and reserves. For more information e-mail brianvdw@sanparks.org or lorrianb@sanparks.org.
