2003 Kzte Gremlin

Post by Werner76 »

So yesterday we took a drive to the Westrand via the N14
When taking the uphill past the casino I noticed a power loss and a slight jerk from the Kz
On a straight level road no problem only seems to be on an uphill when putting the foot down and normally the Kz would accelerate uphill not now
I did a service around 4000km back which included diesel filter

She idles fine and revs up fine

I will keep an eye on her, my first thought was maybe bad diesel because It happened just after I put diesel in but put diesel in again anf she still feels low on power

Any Ideas?

Just to add
She starts easily and no excessive smoking or anything
Engine is smooth and not running rough

Ek sou weer die diesel filter vervang en kyk of daar niks in die lug filter se pype is nie?

Temperatruur normaal? Kyk of die radiator water dalk so charcoal kleur raak? Dan koop jy solank 'n nuwe silinderkop.

Mileage?

When issues like these start happening I always look at the usual culprtits first.

I agree - consider replacing the diesel filter again - the cheapest option.

Other possibilities could be injectors, diesel pump and suction control valve. Not sure whether the kzte has a suction control valve though ?
