Surf op SFA chassis
Weet iemand dalk of die toyota surf se body op n hilux singlecab se onderstel sal pas of is daar te veel modifikasies, ek dink daaraan om my s/cab te omskep in n "stasiewa" vir al die kinders, hulle raak te groot om agterop te sit, hulle se dis nie meer "cool" nie

Jis Wikus, ekt al lank oorweg om n Hi-ace body op my Lux se chassis te sit, ek neem aan hulle is makliker beskikbaar as n Surf, en behoort bitter cool te lyk! Iets om die Synco's meer af te skrik!

Cobus ... not so sure that's a good idea .... besides all the control linkages from a new cab position, if you get it all right it won't be long before affirmative shopping puts it in the hands of a rural taxi driver.

I have once seen the Cressida Station wagon mounted on a SFA Chassis. I cant remember but if im right it seemed like a straight bolt on idea!! Now that might not be pretty, but those Cressida's were really comfy vehicles to drive...

Many years ago in pta i helped someone mount a Cressida SW shell onto a Hilux SFA chassis, fitted quite easy, but it looked like a hearse on steroids!
I think a Epping Prado (Condor) would work nice on a SFA and the parts are easy to get.

There are plenty Surfs in Mozambique. Have a look at the scrap yards in Maputo you might be lucky.

oom Andy, ek hoor wat oom sê, en ja daar is seker n paar probleme met links ens, maar dit was die rede gewees dat die 2.4D platkar bakkie so gewild was om te steel, Ekt al twee taxi,s in die verlede gesien wat diesel ingooi, en dan wonder ek maar net :problem:
As dit vir n "chop-shop" backyard machanic moontlik is, dan kan dit seker nie so kompleks wees nie?
Maar ekt ook aln gewone Cressida gesien op n hilux chassis, en dit het vermy nogal spiff gelyk 8 )

Ek hou van al die raad, maar die taxi idee weet ek darem nie, ek gaan junie moz toe dan sal ek bietjie uitkyk vir een wat darem nog 90% metaal oor het. Ek het n ander forum lid se sfa gesien wat lyk of hulle die cab en die bak aan een gemaak het dit lyk nogal goed.
