Are the engine mounts on the 3.0L D-4D almost vertical

Post by Winch »

Hallo

I'm putting a 1KD-FTV engine into my truck. The motor mounts and rubber insulators are at about a 75-80 degree angle, which means that the engine would be simply suspended by the rubber insulators. How can this be? Would the insulators not simple tear off under the weight of the engine? On my old engine these mounts were at about a 45 degree angle so that the weight is at least supported by the metal mounts. So, is it normal for the mounts to be so upright? Dankie Gerrie
