Advice needed with '86 Isuzu 2,2d diff

Post by Klong se Pa »

The diff on my 1986 Isuzu KB2200d LE packed up on Saturday because the pinionbearing on the diffside seized. The pinion is bent, probably because of the bearing that locked up. Difficult to believe, but true. What is good though is to see how little wear there actually is on the pinion as well as the crownwheel, considering the mileage on the vehicle of 580 000km.

Does anybody got an idea where I can find (new or secondhand) a crownwheel and pinion, or a complete diff (4,55 ratio)? Or else maybe someone can advice me on workshops that can fix the diff up for me in Gauteng. I'm thinking of getting only the pinion because of the bakkie's mileage and age, although I don't think the cw and p will be sold separately. I don't mind if it whines, because the bakkie is mainly used on the farm.

Any ideas plz?
