New Electric Dizi for a 4Y
Hi All,
I need some help. I am interested in changing to an Electronic distributor.
I went to my local Midas, one was ordered. I compared the replacement part and counted the number of gears etc. and it all looks fine.
The one question I asked the guy which I need assistance on is this.
In the pictures of the Electric Dizi, you will see a grey connector with two wires.
What wires do I connect there? I know the coil is no longer used, = 2 wires coming off there, then there is the condenser wire = 1 wire there, Now which one of these do I use? Or do I need something completely new?

You will not make a mistake when you change your dizzie with electronic dizzie. No points to change anymore ,better perpormance and fuel consumption.BUT use the origal toyota electronics dizzies.

Re: New Electric Dizi for a 4Y
Thanks for the responses.
Right, with the responses, I'm of the opinion that I need to then simply take the two wires on the Coil, and move them to this connector?
One being the positive, and the other, i understand, to be the Rev counter?
And the condensor cable is void.
The Dizi looks solid, I will still open it before I buy it just to get a better look at the build, but at R997 it seems like a bargain?
The Toyota Dizi mentioned, is this a standard part for a 4Y? I also was told at some spares place that the standard Venture Dizi fits as well?
And yes, this is also in prepartion to get the EFI done... at some point. so good to know there's still guys doing this.

Re: New Electric Dizi for a 4Y
Great, thanks.
I just gave them a call, "Oupa" says his price is R1280 finish en klaar!
But thanks for the info and response. I'll go get the one I found and sort it out when I'm back.
From what I read the benifit is worthwhile.
