SFA won't stop (4Y)
Hi, I will probably swing by Hoppy's this afternoon to have it looked at, but I have a slight problem with my bakkie and I'm curious as to what the problem could be?
It started on Saturday-evening after I did some dashboard-maintenance earlier the day. I went to park the bakkie in the garage and after I parked it, the engine would not stop running. Even after I switched off the ignition, pulled out the keys and everything, it would not stop. I eventually had to 'ruk hom dood' in gear by dropping the clutch.
This is a bit of a problem, but hopefully not something big. Anybody else experience this with their 4Y's? Could it be a fuse? (I blew some earlier the day when I connected the radio wrong?)

What type of dashboard maintenance did you do? Did you work on the ignition wiring?

How does your ignition switch feel? Maybe it is a bit worn.

Ja. It stops sooner now. Whenever I have driven a bit, the problem seems to go away. It is only apparent when I cold start and move it into the garage.

Your Lux is trying to tell you something! .... it's tired of sitting in the garage!!

Sal ons nou so in Engels onderhandel!

Dieseling / pre-ignition would not carry on for too long ... would die out in a few seconds. Would also run very roughly and misfiring while it was happening. Is this what is happening?dd6 wrote:Sal ons nou so in Engels onderhandel! If it runs on smoothly then it sounds like there is still ignition to the coil ...... like a faulty ignition relay.

Re: SFA won't stop (4Y)

Re: SFA won't stop (4Y)
Sal bietjie daarna kyk, thanks. Maar kan dit steeds so werk dat die bakkie afskakel as hy 'n entjie gery het, maar nie afskakel as hy nog koud is (net uit die garage uit getrek het) nie?
