Vigo - Help please!

Post by DawidT »

Hi All,

Can anyone please give me some advise? My 2.5 D4d DC 4X4 is making funny squeeking noises at the rear, wheel or drive shaft (can not pin point it yet?). It sounds like a dry wheel barrow wheel when it is pushed - squeek-squeek-squeek - as it rotates. This is very audible when I go in reverse down hill and I take my foot of the excallerator and the drive train is driven by the wheels and not the motor - the motor compression breaking the Hilux. I hope I explained it good enough?

Simptome was dieselfde.

Thanks All,

I traced the problem down to the rear universal joint on the prop shaft! Even when moving the universal joint by hand you can hear the squeeking sound.
