Which size winch for hilux vigo?

Considering fitting winch to hilux.
Which size is recommended? 9000 or 12000lbs?

Claude on a Vigo the 9000 winch will be ample. The general rule applies of the GVM of the vehicle x 1.5 = winch size in KG. 9000lbs = 4100 kg. Should be sufficient in most cases unless you are planning a lot of recoveries where you need to recover heavier vehicles like Cruisers & patrols ect.

I have a 9000, been USED a time or three. PERFECT on a heavily loaded Hilux. :)


and IF you are so stuck that you need more "pull" - use a snatch block and double the pulling power :)

Thx chris. Do seem from response 9000 is the outjie to be used.
