High mileage hilux 2.7

Post by Greenhorn »

Hi all,

I have a opportunity to purchase a high mileage toyota hilux 2.7 srx, with 313 000 km on the clock.
How much longer will the engine be mechanically sound?
What would the cost be to rebuild the engine or replace it?

Thanks

They are good for a lot more km's (dependent on how it was looked after). I have heard of on that has 570 000kms and no problems to date and it works every day.

Hi Greenhorn, welcome to the site. My 2700i now stands on 340,000Km. She has been serviced 10,000Km ago. If I take out the dip stick the oils still looks like new oil, not black at all. She runs like a dream.

I have spoken to Wessel from 4xtech in the Cape, he says they easily lasts for 700,000 or more km. He serviced one from Namibia earlier this year with 780,000 on the clock and the engine has not been opened yet.
