2.5 D4D Injectors.

Post by DawidT »

Hi All,

I need some help / advise please! The injectors on my 2008, Hilux 2.5 D4D needs to be replaced - confirmed by two separate service centres. Should I recon (where?) them or buy a new set? I am a bit concerned to buy a set that is advertised on the internet. What would be the average price for recon and new injectors?
Anyone with a spare set for sale?

Just as a matter of interest. Why are they saying the injectors are faulty. Are you experiencing any issues that would indicate there is a problem or was it a diagnostics test that showed that?

Thanks

Ja if you buy on eBay or so and the price looks too good to be true, it normally is.
I wanted to import injectors from companies with very goods prices.
Imported samples from 3 different companies over 6 month period, all 3 same thing, properly cleaned reconned injectors, not new, but they come in new Toyota packaging. So be careful.

Not sure about exact price, last time I heard set of 3l D4D injectors as in region of R9k

I installed a chip a while ago and the first guy told me the injectors are not good anymore. Took it to another guy and he said the same. I am not sure if you can do any other test than putting it on the dyno and play with the settings??? he did not take it out, just told me that if he adjusts the settings too much the ecu trips the enjin. :eh:

Why don't you just let a place like SAC clean them?

Let toyota test your injectors. What chip did you install?
