I use a gas flame for soldering this type of joint... got one of these for the job:

Kit includes 3 tips, 2 for standard soldering and 1 blow torch tip.

This is the best advice.Soldering alone IMHO is not a good thing as it can cause solder to crack under vibrations as well as currents causing expansion and contractions at the solder points thus loose connections. Best as Chris has pointed out,crimp using an approved crimping tool and not a hammer and punch,then solder and heat shrink.Just saying.

Ek verkies ook die hex, lyk beter en is beslis stewiger. Lyl ook beter met die heat shrink.

maar nie weet ek hoekom ek nog nie weer die bloudraad en water pomp tang nodig gehad het met die Hilux nie ... :siffler:

het self met 1 geleer hy was baaie oud die bakwerk was erg geroes en die exhaust ook gaar, het die bakkie gestart met n 16mm flat spanner op die starter met die duur oop sodat al die rook eers weg waai en uit die bakkie kom voor jy ry :laugh2:

Ek het myne sommer op die gas primus warm gemaak, die isolasie smelt bietjie maar die heat shrinck of fused tape maak weer reg :lmao:

Gebruik die Hex veral met DC kabel, hex krimp van alle kante af teenoor die ander wat net op een punt krimp. Ons het dit veral op die lokomotiewe se motors gebruik.

Soldeersel/lood is onnodig; krimp sal voldoende wees. Soldeersel kraak net met vibrasie.
