Performance chip

Post by Predator »

ey all the Toyota-holics.

I recently fitted a Performance Chip to my 3.0 d4d Hilux bakkie, primarily for more power when towing.

During my first towing trip, the bakkie went into Limp Mode 3 times, while driving in 3rd gear up a long steep hill. (Vehicle was "labouring". My large offroad trailer weighs around 1ton).

The supplier says it is NOT the chip (that connects directly to the Injectors) but it could be the Turbo which has carbon build up and causes the bakkie to go into Limp Mode under strain. .

Huh?

Anybody have an opinion? ?

JA, daai manne by Dynotech KEN hul storie.

I got arrested for driving naked. I guess I shouldn’t have put four wheels, an engine, and a steering wheel on my bathtub.

Die logika ontgaan my. R80/100k?

Each to his own....maar ai!

in all fairness .... those plug and play guys are GOOD salesmen !! :o: :shh:

sadly not everybody understands enough of this topic when they first spend money

FORTUNATELY the bakkie went into limp mode .... some others just keeps on going until catastrophic engine failure ....

bietjie skoolgeld, (hopelik) geen skade

Is your diesel filter clean?

BTW: I'm also not a fan of these plug and play chips and prefer the Unichip that can control boost and fueling over the entire rev range ;)

Thought the 3l tow good enough. Well I towed a 3 ton trailer with it and never though I need more power. Yes I chipped a 2.5 but who would not! :D:

Yes If you need to chip get something worth while. Like the Dastek Unichip.
