D4D Hilux coils

Hi I have a problem with my 2015 D/CAB 4x4 diesel Hilux suspension but it is a bit of a story to explain all the facts so here goes

I had a 2010 4x4 d/cab 3d4d with OME coils and bilstein shocks
When I decided to buy a 2015 4x4 d/cab 3d4d auto.
I then decided to have the shocks and coils swopped from the 2010 to the 2015 as I belief them to be the same and it should not have made a difference.

I took the 2 vehicles to a HiQ to have the swop done but could not wait around to see it done.

Now after 20000 km the vehicle is sagging in the from and especially on the left hand side.

Last night I removed the frontwheel and it looks like the actual shock has bent where it mounts at the bottom.

So my questions are

Are OME coils longer than standard coils ?
Is it possible that if the HiQ people did not swop the coils it can damage the shock absorber ?
My vehicle is lower infront than the old one and any standard other 2015 hilux ?

I do not want to fit coils that cause my vehicle to be manufacturer dependant on shocks.

Any comments ?
Is there anybody that upgrade there suspention on a similar Hilux right after they bought it where I can get original suspension at a discounted price ?

I need this resolved as soon as possible as I need the vehicel fully functional by friday.

Hi I got offered the suspension off a Hilux that only did 4000 km so basically brand new. Seems like you need it more :-)

I'll pm you details, I got them from an awesome guy called Chris.

He has it at his business close to Carnival City. You must just collect.

I'll pass this one on to you , if you want you can give Chris a six pack of beer.

But you will have to take the complete suspension including leaves springs.

As to why this happened no idea

As far I'm aware the suspension from 2005 all the way to 2015 are identical


Any expert that can confirm ?


Also look at after marker suspension adverts they alway only advertise one for the Vigo

I would also like it if someone can confirm that the suspention is the same across all years spesifically the the front suspention.

JAWS ek weet nog nie bakkie gaan vandag in vir fitment, ek sit in Gaborone so ek glo alles sal goed verloop as ek vanaand daar kom is hy gefix, ek het paar plekke geroer oor suspensie as daar iets uitval kry jy eerste

I believe the shocks were revised between the 2006 and 2009 models or so. Not 100% sure

If anyone has a Fortuner 2010 onwards stock suspension for sale/giveaway let me know

Ok so my Hilux is mobile and going again thanks to Jaws en Chris

Altwee shocks lyk so wat uitgekom het M@3rtoe my kroon

I now have spare a set of OME coils that was in my 2010 Hilux and a brand new 2007 Hilux set of leaf springs courtecy of Chris.
