Time to replace the clutch

Post by Rollercoaster639 »

I really need some help on this. I need to replace my clutch because it has started slipping when pilling off on an incline.

I am looking for a heavy duty clutch. I am heavy on a clutch because I use the Hilux to tow my ski boat to Moz. I use it to launch and recovery the boat also. This is done on the sand and is heavy on a clutch.

My current clutch lasted less than 100k. I have always had problems with this clutch from day one. Even without towing the boat it would stink when I pulled away on a steep incline. Almost like when one rides the clutch.

Anyhow I am looking for a supplier who can supply me with a heavy duty clutch. It is a 2010 D4D 3.0l 4x4 Single cab.
Even better if he can install it also. (I am in Bethal MP)
If someone know the name or part numbers / info of this type of clutch plate , pressure plate and release bearing please give it to me.
Thanks

Sounds like you need to do the 2wd low range mod! Really handy for backing heavy items and for leaving in low range then flicking it into hi range. Anyhow there r also mobs that do a bigger flywheel and heavy clutch for big horsepower applications, worth a look!

Buy a Sachs or Aisin clutch kit, not the LUK crap that Toyota sells. The LUK stuff does not last. I just has a Sachs kit installed in my D4D and I am really happy with it.
