Hilux 3.0 d4d error P0101 Poor airflow meter circuit

Hi, i have a hilux 2007 3.0 which is giving error code p0101 maf error. it seems to be not communicating the increasing airflow (at 1600rpm) to the ecu at lower rpm causing the ecu not to request more fuel into the engine. as a result the boost is coming in late at about 2500rpm opposed to 1600rpm when it should come in. i have cleaned the sensor with electrical contact cleaner and even tested a sensor from another hilux of the same type but it still does not boost. i suspect their is a wiring problem but dont know where to find the opposite end of the cable. plz help, thanks
