Howzit guys,

Hope someone can help....

I have a 76 Troopy. Hazards work until trailer is hitched and then nothing . No Hazards. I had all the tail lights connected by our local wiring experts. It comes out with only the back bumper lights working (dunnno why!). The actual lights fitted to the body (rear) come unconnected...

Anyhow, if I put in bulbs in both of the indicator fittings, the hazards die... We tried a new flicjer unit but to no avail.

I'm thinking that the actual bulbs might be too big for the specific vehicle? The vehicle was purchased used so the previous owner coyld have replaced with incorrect bulbs at some time....

Any ideas?

Replace your bulbs with led bulbs which draw less amps and see if it works.

Yep, as Dawie says. Otherwise, you will need to fit a relay to drive the trailer lights or do it electronically - not sure if an aftermarket electronic relay can be bought though, I would imagine it should be.

Common problem with newer cruisers, The LED option will solve your problem.
Dont fit LED to all indicator fittings otherwise the indicator unit does not have enough resistance and will then start blinking at triple speed.

If you have bullbar with extra lights then it also compounds the problem.

In SA All vehicles with spare wheels on the back need to have lights on the bumper. something to do with the angle you must be able to see both tail lights.

You can have the original lights connected but you need to get the right light fittings as the one fitted now are siply blanked off. Some people get very invative and have made them work.

In my case the original lights were working but had to fit the lower ones to be legal on my older model Cruiser

Why can't I see your photo?

Shane you can order your LED bulbs from 4x4 Direct.

Also, check the earth on the trailer plug.

My trailer deactivated the ABS! which is actually a good thing. Was also a earth problem.

Those lights in there are not LED, normal incandescent globes, only the number plate lights have LED

But if you want LEDS then get from 4X4 Direct, I got my others from them
