What is the standard tyre size for the SFA Hilux. 87 - 94 (4Y engine)?

Does the imperial parameters work the same as the ISO standard, i.e. 265/70/R15 -> 265 the width of the tyre, 70 - the wall height, (70 the percent of the width of the tyre), R15 - 15 Inch Rim?

Kind Regards,
Jaco

Can be a 245x75R15 or a 215R15 IIRC (Marie Biscuit)

No imperial is in the case of a tyre actually a better descriptive method of displaying tyre sizes (no % of width cheetah-sh..) A 31x1.05x15 means the diameter of the rim is 15inches the diameter of the tyre is 31 inches and the tyre is 10.5 inches wide. To determine the sidewall is easy it is (31-15) /2 = 8 inches.

See this tyre size calculator http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html

HI All,

I need to replae my Hilux Tyres and not sure the size. I can get 245/75/15 Goodyear Wranglers AT/SA for a good price but think it's to narrow.

If the standard is 31 x 10.5 it converts to 280/75/15 if my convertion table s correct.

Can i fit the 245 or is that not an option?

Thanks, Will get them. Can get them for around R900 each.

I know in the "WEG" they said the new Hilux (my model is 2005) over turn (rol) and it might have to do with the tyre size. Don’t know how true that is but rather on the safe side than sorry.

Groete

Dankie by voorbaat.

Groete
Rinus

Stanadrd size for 1980 to '88 SFS Hilux's was 215x15; the earlier HiLux's were 16" split rims

Hi Harold, I have a 90 SFA DC, I fitted 215 75 r15, but they look so small! haha. I've heard the 90's came with 225's.

Has anyone looked in an owners manual to see what is spec'd by Toyota?

Thanks a mil!!
