Bogs down with petrol... what gives??

Post by Limey »

Hi all.
Had a problem with my exhaust recently - wasnt bolted on correctly. Sorted the problem out, but now when I start from cold, it holds idle. The minute I give a bit of fuel, then it bogs down and dies... I cant give any gas at all for about 3 minutes, after that its fine - any suggestions? Overfueling? Underfueling?

Thanks.

Sounds like the carb might need a good going over. Is this the 2Y engine? Were you able to find out any specs on it?

I was the one to suggest 8° in the Community Forum, but don't take that as Gospel, it was just a starting point.

Seems no-one has any info on this engine. Have you tried asking a Toyota Dealer for the info? They are usually quite helpful.

I'm pretty sure i is working....

It was working fine until I drove into the garage, re-bolted the exhaust and restarted it. Thats when it decided NOT to work decently.
