Electical problem ,2001 3.0L DE IFS

Hi guys
I have a problem where some of the instrument panel lights just started to come on while i was driving, they came on @ the same time and stays on now after the engine is started.The lights that comes on is the ,charge light ,water drain light on the diesel filter, timing belt light and the engine oil light.
The alternator is definitely not charging anymore as the battery is getting weaker.It has been raining quite a bit here,so the roads are wet and muddy,can this cause a bad earth or something.
