Engine After Fire (From Exhaust Tail Pipe)

Post by Stallion »

Evening from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa,

Hope all well at your ends by the Grace of the Almighty.

New thing to discuss.

I've noticed an After Fire Pop from the Exhaust Pipe during deceleration on my Stallion. The After Fire is very minimum and doesn't happen all the time during deceleration happens only once in a while, and it's not loud, just a slight pop.

Does this mean that I'll need to adjust the Air/Fuel Mixture? As I understand that this is either caused by a Rich Mixture, Vaccum Leak after the Throttle body or a Lean Mixture.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

N.B: Her power is great, no lag, idling is great etc.

Regards

Sounds like the fuel mixture is a bit rich or the timing just a tad too advanced, but I really wouldn't be concerned about it at all if acceleration and maintaining speed are smooth with no misfires. Check for vacuum leaks in any event, just to be sure. :winkx:

Morning Mud Dog, hope all well at your end by the grace of the Almighty.

Thank you for your swift response on this.

1. Just checked for Vaccum Leaks this morning and all checked out to be fine.

2. I'm taking your advise as not to be concerned, as there's no misfire during driving or cruising, hence as you mentioned, could be a slight rich fuel air mixture, or timing just slightly advdnced.

3. I'll therefore go with you and leave her as it is on this.

Thanks Mud Dog.
