I changed all the oil on a SFA this week and the rear diff filler plug was damaged in the process to get it loose.
The same happened with my 2.7's gearbox a while ago.
Where I stay you wait for any parts you need, spare shops hardly keep anything in stock.
We do however have a Bolts Galore 100 metres down the road.
So I just went down, bough a M18x40 with 1.5 pitch bolt and cut it shorter. It actually works much better than the old filler plugs because now at least you have enough of a head to grip.
The specific high tensile bolt they gave me has a very nice shoulder under the head which is perfect for the copper washer.

Re: Diff and Gearbox Filler Plug
Metrench Sockets normally deal with those half striped bolts but better to replace.
