Hi Gents,
I bought my Tuna with powerbrakes fitted.
The brakepads are at the end of life and I need to replace them.
My question is : Do I have to replace them with the expensive powerbrake pads or can i use normal brakepads(ferodo etc)?
Tnx

Hi Danie
I recall watching a youtube video some time back from Powerbrake, I cannot locate the video now, however they stated that the compound of the pad is matched to the disc. Other brand of pads will cause premature wear to the disc.
I am not sure if that is just a marketing strategy to purchase their brand of pad or any truth to it.
Their contact details are below. They could provide more insight.

Re: Powerbrake brakepad replacement
I would go with the original Powerbrakes pads. I can vouch for the huge improvement they made to my SFA when I fitted them some years ago.

Re: Powerbrake brakepad replacement
You can use other brake pads if you cannot afford the Powerbrake pads. Ferrodo is good quality but tend to be on the hard side. Bosch are quite a bit softer. I also like Safeline. Stay away from these no-name/wang chung brake pads.
