how hard is it change a cv?

Hey guys
how hard is it to change a cv on a 91 hilux surf?
iv been quoted 400 aus to have it done or 150aus in parts and do it my self
it doesnt seem to hard.

He used a very big expletive. Very dirty and tedious job but not difficult.

i was planning on replacing the entire cv from wheel to diff,
iv done a fair amount before just never one of these. i take it is
top ball joint off
stearing rodd off
bottom ball joint off
out with the old in with the new
then all back together

Not to difficult.
The messy part is to get the grease inside the booty. I have also battled to get the supplied metal straps around the CV boots. If you cant get them on nicely you can try nice big fat cable ties .

thats the cv i was planning on getting dont they come pre greased and sealed up?
and yeah cable ties work so much better than the ss straps they come with :)
it doesnt seem to bad just awkward. i might get a mate to help that owes me :)

is it worth getting a wheel alignment done as well afterwards?
and should anything else be replaced whilst im there?
also how hard is it to change to manual hubs?

CV is all done and it wasn't to bad, did the whole thing in about 2 hours, with a cup of tea in there.
im probably going to do the other side in a few weeks as well because i know its going to get hammered.
