Disconnect anti-roll bar

Post by swifty »

Has anyone done this mod on the 2.7 IFS Hilux? One can leave the bar in place and only remove the coupling bolt on one side.

This mod seems to be very popular in the States (on the Surf) as it improves off-road articulation whilst on road handling remains OK (as long as the front shocks are in good condition.

Quick disconnect kits are also for sale in Australia and the States.

disconnects

I do not think many people who own these type of model Toyota vehicles have considered this, yes it can be done, but you must not drive your vehicle faster than 80km on a tar road, if you find the vehicle unstable then drop your speed as well, slightly off-topic, with the TJ Wrangler we also have disconnects, they are permanelty disconnected, but then do not use the Jeep for on tar road driving down to the shop or to work, it is fully modded for off-road use.
