Now that I have the beast on my name eventually (Naming suggestions always welcomed), all the minor niggles need sorting out, one by one.
Noticed the driver's side mirror was pretty loose, and kept blowing inwards towards the door in a vertical plane.
So, unscrewed it, only to find that the spring, nut and the machined bolt part holding it in place poured out into my hand as a pile of rust flakes.
Since the bolt itself was mostly eroded away, anyone else had experience with some form of repair, or is it a replacement job? If a replacement, can I get just the "joint", or do I have to do the whole mirror unit?
I was thinking that I could possibly drill the bolt part out from the top and drop a replacement through there, but these things take time when the rest of the family has important bits, like my drill!
Cheers
Jason

Jason... I know the feeling... my dad 'borrowed' my drill... it got stolen out the boot of his merc at work...
Then again I've got a pile of his 'missing' tools lying in my garage!

Wish I could say the same. I seem to be the only one in the family who actually buys tools thoughRustyRod wrote:

Jason, the whole unit is cheap as chips at Commercial in Salt River - you'll just need to switch the actual glass between the two as theirs come with flat glass which is terrible to look into.
