Scenic and intriguing. The "Old tank from the war" pic looks like a T54 / T55 model Russian tank .... very comonly used with the Russian / allied forces. This one however seems to have had the superstructure removed and modified for some other use.

Re: Angola 2010
The sad thing is that these fuels are produced here and tanked there, yet they are still so much cheaper even with all the transport costs. We are in effect subsidising their fuel, as well as of course all the different govt taxes and levies that we are forced to pay on top of it all.

Re: Angola 2010
That might well be something relatively new, like in the last 4 - 5 yrs. I was told by a senior Shell exec that they produced all the petrol (except for Trek at that time, now Engen I think) for southern Africa and Madagascar here in RSA. BP / Caltex / Total etc would source from them and add their own additives / colourants. In other far flung areas of the world, Bp etc. would refine and supply ... the agreement was apparently to eliminate duplicate refinery unit costs in areas that could be serviced by one refinery. Made sense to me at the time and I had no reason to think that it was'nt true.
