White tape on front bumpers for Zimbabwe

Post by Bulletjie-3 »

After the 3 police stop in Zim I was fined for not having white tape on both sides. I wasn't aware of that requirement allthough the vechile was checked at the previous stoppings.
So please take note.

Thanks Everdt.
Zim clearly do not like visitors. A real pity...

Hi Roy this was my first time by car and I was realy impress by their friendlyness. Other drivers in our group have been there before and never had it on so ja like ooooms said it has always been required....
Tumelo this is tricky - a couple of the local vechiles were standing there - everyone got the stickers on - one got a circle of about 5cm, other one a lenght of 20cm on each side, others were about 3cm long. By asking the officer what spesifications he said ja ja ja that is fine. So sorry can't tell you more for the moment. I will follow it up at a later stage.
I read ooooms story - I was only fined for the front ones missing - didn't even have red ones at the back - lucky me.

Thumelo Have a look at my Hilux on the trip report I did in April. 50x 50 mm white reflective tape on both sides of the bumper as far/wide apart as possible. Also rear needs the same but it must be red reflective.

Front should look like this. Bear in mind that standard reflectors on the vehicle is not enough, these markers/ reflective tape should also be fitted.

Went through Zim & Mozambique like this, not one issue once.
