Arnize go 2 Africa
Until now I did not post this on the forum for fear that something might go wrong and prevent us from doing it and the fact that it seems so unreal, but here goes. Since the 5th April we are living our dream of driving through Africa. You can follow our adventure on the blog:
http://arnizego2africa.wordpress.com/
We arrived in Blantyre yesterday and plan to leave for Lake Malawi on Monday. We will be back in SA in more or less 6 months.

Leaving for Arusha tomorrow. This feels like a dream. Everything still ok with the Hilux and the crew. Thanks for all the good wishes. Met the two bikers in Mzuzu and had a nice chat. Ek het nie daai op nie Dawie. Sal die bakkie nagaan in Nairobi. The oil is a real sensation.
Het 'n CR Hilux by ons kampplek in Dar Es Salaam gesien, maar ongelukkig die mense gemis, aangesien ons Zanzibar toe was.

In Addis Ababa. Very wet and raining every day. Up to now the Hilux is just amazing. Had the problems fixed in Nairobi. It was just shoddy work done in Skukuza that had to be rectified. The trip is still amazing. Leaving for the north tomorrow.

Went up as far as Wadi Halfa. Had to turn around there, as it was not safe to enter Egypt. Had great fun driving in the dessert and sleeping under the stars. Every day around 40 degrees. Now on our way back. Tonight in hotel in Atbara on route to Khartoum.

Thanks everybody for the good wishes. Visited the spot where the Blue and White Nile meet in Khartoum this morning. What an amazing site, as both the rivers are in flood at the moment. The White Nile is light brown and the Blue Nile is a redish brown. Massive amounts of water. Got stuck in a chaotic traffic yam, but everybody is in good mood and waving at us.

In Kisumu after leaving Nairobi yesterday morning. Sounds like we where just in time. Drove the Marsabit road Monday. Personally I rate it the third most difficult road on our trip thus far. The Hilux is just amazing. Leaving for Uganda on Monday.
