Africa Burn 2014
Our annual trip to the burn started on Tuesday morning, i decided to take the shop bakkie instead of the fully kitted double cab KZTE, we needed more loading space.
The 2.4d motor went well, it battled a bit on the uphills with a very full load, but returned 9.2km/l on the trip, so i think hooking third often and second on two ocations is excusable.
We had five days of fun with no C phones or internet.
On the way back we took a chance and took the back route, we had to cross the Doring-river on the way to the Biedouw-valey. What a nice drive, the crossing was scary with the water level over the bonnet at one stage, but the 2wd Hilux did well as always.
I don't get much time to play with my camera, and decided to familiarize myself a bit and play with the settings, at last, i took some pics;

I was just about to say that the pics from previous years showed better 'sculpures', but it's looking a lot more promising with the last couple of pics. Pretty sure you guys enjoyed it all the same!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!

Re: Africa Burn 2014
Nice pics. Seems like lots of fun. Seems like it is fashion now to get flat tyres, a while ago it was in fashion to roll Hiluxes, luckily that fashion is over now, let's rather go for flats now.

Re: Africa Burn 2014
Hey Allan glad it was such a great burn for you guys.... Awesome photo's. Some of those shots its hard to believe there were 10 000 people there, they must have still been sleeping ie. the morning after the night before. Yip I have to agree BFG seem to be prone to punctures, think we must definitely look at alternative tyres, they don't last as well as, and don't handle the tough roads as they're supposed to...
