SFA Built-up.....and a few mods
A while back I took stock and realize there was about 2 whole SFA's lying in pieces. Decided what the hell, lets built one. Also wanted a bit more power, was seriously considering a Lexus, but at the end decided to go with a 3RZ. Mainly because I had a complete motor already, with oem ecu, tank etc. Also wanted to fit some 33" tyres, so I needed some lift and with that I needed to convert to a X-over steering. So here goes:
First: Took a 1992 model chassis and started with the engine mounts for the 3RZ, lowering the shock mounts and welding brackets for the IFS steering box. Oh and the bracket for the IFS tank.

Looking forward to this read. The 3RZ is an ideal match for the SFA!

So is the 7mge, loads more torque at low revs. 3RZ is the 2.7 engine.

Re: SFA Built-up.....and a few mods
Fitting std. 4.875 ratio diffs (already completely recon) to compensate for the bigger tyres. Rear diff is gearmax with electric locker. OME leaf springs for approx. 2" lift and 2x 25mm = 50mm (another 2") steel blocks between the diff and springs. Used the longer right side U-bolts for front left and rear, will have to make longer ones for the right side front.

Looking good, what petrol tank are you using. I wonder if you can fit the 90L 2.7 tank.

Re: SFA Built-up.....and a few mods
Just a quick update:
Got the cyllinder head back from the engineering, replaced the valve stem seals.
Took a gearbox from our stock, my brother replaced the bearings and seals.
Fitted a new clutch and mate the engine and gearbox and fit it to the chassis. Fitted the head back to the block.
Put the cab onto the chassis to check all clearances. Its just temporary and we will take of again.
Will give more feedback to all the questions as soon as I have more time.

Ek sien jy praat van sterker motor om die 33" bande te kan hanteer.
