These LED worklights are very nice lights but if you put it on your roof rack, they tend to shine in your eyes when you look in the direction of the vehicle.
I've put mine on a pole. I used a 16mm stainless steel pipe, it was an off-cut from one of the guys in the neighborhood who does stainless steel balustrades.
I took the nut supplied with the LED worklight and forced it into the one end of the pole, actually I had to grind off some of it with the bench grinder. Then just to make sure it does not come out I welded it to the pole.
Then I just screwed the standard bracket to it and extended the wire.
In the corner of the roof rack I added two pieces of stainless plate which I bent in a curve, I did not have a larger pipe to make a bracket so I decided to use the plate in this way.
The pole is about 1 meter long. I put it on top of everything when I pack When we stop at a camping site, I take it out, put it in position so that it can be out of the way and at night just plug it in. There is an extra power connecter at the back left of my load bin.
Now with the light shining down it does not bother you at all.

Dit is nou 'n praktiese en uitstekende idee. Ek het genoeg ou aluminium pale en gaan my een ook so aanpas. Dankie vir die idee.

Re: Worklight Extended on Pole
Ja hy skein lekker. Ek het maar 'n 6 watt liggie op want ek hou nie van helse skerp ligte as ek kamp nie.
Johannes en Niel-hulle het die liggie al in aksie gesien by Trekoskraal.
