A-Frame to tow Hilux?

Hi All,
Does anyone have suggestions or ideas for making an A-Frame to tow a SFA ?

I'm not having any luck locating a trailer or Mobi-Jack in or around Richards Bay, but need to get my van from Gauteng next week Tuesday. So running out of ideas very quickly.

My thinking was to make a frame which bolts onto the leaf spring mountings...

Obviously this is a long trip and there's a lot to consider, given the weight etc. I'm also not sure of any legal aspects?

have you thought of unbolting the bumper ? Should be possible to make up an A-frame to bolt onto the chassis rail, where the bumper bolts on ....

I have previously done this with another bakkie we had to tow a few hundred kilometers.

I don't know how the SFA chassis look like in front, but I made an A-Frame (50mm square tube - 2mm wall thickness) for my KZ-TE that mounted where the nudge bar and recovery hook/s get fitted. Towed it for 1500km when I had an electrical fault.

I have 2 that was on SFA's - might need some cutting or welding to make it fit.

Hi Thabo,
Are you saying I could acquire one from you? If you could PM me a figure please?
Would be much appreciated, do your recall where they mounted onto the vehicle?

Did you consider courier? Probably about R5k. Factor your time, fuel and risk into it and it doesn't seem too much.

I have actually. In fact been on mail most of the day trying to give the description to the lady. Byt since it's not a local vehicle they having trouble getting the spec and working out a quote etc.
I do have other business in Pta to take care of as well though, so this is also why I need to make it happen next week.
I must say that with the responses thus far I'm more encouraged regarding the "do-ability" of the task. But still would prefer a trailer.

Contact Morney at Peter Ben Motors, they know what they doing and actually charged me less than R5k from JHB to CPT.
My Chev was R3900 from PE to CPT and the Surf was something like R4500 from JHB to CPT. I think the Kia was R4400 from PTA to CPT
