Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
Thx guys. This is basically a proto-type. What would look better: with holes and without rivets, with rivets and without holes, or more of the same?
Cheers, Chris.

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
Looking good Chris.
When do orders start?
Personally I would use less rivets, maybe every second one.
And have you stiffened behind the bumper in between the holes, to give back some strength? or you may find yourself having dents.

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
My personal opinion .... better without the rivets .... keep the holes ,,, also overall less weight. Have you made a winch plate inside? What would look better: with holes and without rivets, with rivets and without holes, or more of the same?
I love it, so this would not be a criticism, but the other thing that came to mind was abuot compromising the aproach angle. The pics don't have a clear side view so I'm just asking. It seems to protrude a little and the bottom edge looks a bit low IRO ground clearance, but that might just be the picture angle.
Nonetheless, a nice neat job so far.

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
Hi Andy,
Yep, approach angle can be a problem, the angle of the plate point slightly above the bottom of the wheels. Will take pic tonight from the side. But one can make it with a slightly better angle, still about 50 mm space to go. And I wanted a BIG bumper, if the angle too acute it will maybe look silly, so I had to compromise. But it is heavy, used 2.5 mm plate, and there are not even much reinforcing inside. There is space for a winch, but no winch plate. But it is blerrie too much work....
Cheers,
Chris

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
Chris, are you planning on beefing up the front suspension or better yet a suspension lift, that would alleviate the possibility of an approach angle problem .... would also make it look meaner. :D

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
Ja, maybe suspension upgrade in future. Body lift will mean I'll have to modify brackets
For now it wil do.

Re: DIY Bumper/Bullbar
just a suspension lift will do the trick and it would look really awsome, (literally ). Good luck, and we'd love to see the finished product.
