OK. So I did some general inquiry regarding the usage of Biofuel in my Lux.
In Europe Toyota advocates the usage of biofuel in their vehicles if it complies to standards set out by the EU.

Fine. I sent an email to Toyota SA and asked the same question and this was the reply:

We acknowledge receipt of your e-mail.
Kindly be advised that we do not recommend the usage of biodiesel in Toyota vehicles.

Kind Regards

No reason or explanation. Just a "NO" :aggresive:
A Biofuel station in Centurion has all the bells and whistles with testing standards according to their website and I honestly would like to give my part back to mother nature especially after removing my CAT. :surrender: :surrender:
Who uses biofuel and if you do not use it, why not?
Why would Toyota SA differ from Toyota EU since most of the vehicles are built according to the same standard?

Any suggestions of the clever boys out there?

I speak under huge correction. I understood that you need to change all rubber gaskets and fittings in your diesel pump and fuel lines if you want use BioFuel.

Thats correct. Biofuel is quite harsh on all the rubber components on the fuel system.

But why would Toyota EU say "yes" and Toyota SA say "no"?

It has all to do with Homologation. The different models manufacturers release have different modification on them according to the geographical area. So it is quite possible that the models will be different, depending what the fuel supply for the area is. Remember how long it took Toyota to launch a diesel sedan? It had to do with the quality diesel available in SA.

I have a document from Toyota Japan that was sent via the SA Toyota head office.
5% biodiesel is approved for use in all Toyota's in SA. The same goes for any diesel engine in any vehicle in SA.
You can contact me for more info.

i asked toyota the same thing and got the 5%, else your warrentee not valid.

there is a huge argument of the prons and cons of DB on the isuzu ofroad club forum.

This one dude kept mentioning a sum of R18000.. i presume that was his repair bill after using BD.
More than seals he mentioned sludge buildup.

I think Toyota SA is just being cautious cause one can make BD in you garage and they have no control over how well you clean your BD.
