Check these nice bikes from California.
They just received a million dollar grant from California state for development.

The new SR configuration offers 56% higher torque and 24% more power. With 67 hp, 106 ft-lb of torque, top speed of 102 mph and 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds, it’s perhaps not surprising that this badass bike is available only in red.

A number of improvements have been made to the entire product line, several of them in response to customer feedback:

An upgraded suspension includes larger front shocks, more integrated triple clamps, new 43 mm forks for increased torsional rigidity and more precise steering, and redesigned rear shocks.
An improved braking system features a rear brake caliper with a larger 240 mm rotor for more stopping power. The front and rear rotors are also larger: 240 mm on the Zero FX and 310 mm on the Zero S and Zero DS.
The dash has been completely redesigned – the instrument cluster has been replaced with a blue backlit LCD featuring more info about the state of charge and current performance profile. A new right-hand switch lets riders toggle on the fly between riding modes: eco, sport and the new custom mode, which allows riders to set their own performance profile.
The chassis has been refined to deliver increased torsional rigidity, improved control and handling, and more ground clearance.
The Zero FX now features dual projector beam headlights with integrated flyscreen, a more ergonomic seat that’s designed to carry a passenger, and optional passenger pegs.

The new Power Tank accessory is a 2.8 kWh battery that slides into the front storage space, and can be added to any 2014 S or DS model to extend the range to 276 km in the city or 141 km on the highway.

Yep, impressive, but that's also typical of these electric motors. Where they fall down is the range and also top speed when compared to petrol motors (but you're not supposed to travel over 120kmph anyway). ;-)

I don't think it is bad.

102 mph is 163 km/h, not even a normal 250 bike can do that.
Our little 150 cc Scooter has a range of 100 km if you are lucky and the CD200 I owned long ago could do about 140km on a tank.

The development of these electric bikes is amazing, 5 years back typical range as 60km and top speed 90km/h

Looks nice. What will be interesting is how it will be classified above 125cc or below 125cc because there is no cc's.

The classification will most likely be in KW.

Very nice looking bike. Would be nice if there was a flexible solar panel in the seat.

Blykbaar 'n fantastiese bike daai.
