Outrekpad - Vaatjies Sandmyn - 21 March 2011

Post by Mr_B »

A small group of friends and my fam decided to do the Outrekpad trail today, 21 March... the trail is just outside Melkbos, off the N7... the facilities are excellent, after a fun days sand driving, the lapa offered welcome relief from the scorching sun... a braai place... for the boerie rolls and chops... clean neat ablutions were also much appreciated! It was so much fun driving that we didn't really stop too often to take pics... but here's a few I took...

Jessica wasn't too impressed with the bumpy ride, but she still enjoyed it a lot...

There's a play area at the lapa... kept the kids busy...

Jaco gave us a demo of the D4D's awesome low end torque... but inadvertently got himself really stucks...
Image

That's the lapa, ablutions and kids play area in the background... there's even a shower!

Must say, Craig's air jack proved very handy today, it's easy-of-use and versatility are top notch!

Agree Bretton, I will much rather use the Air bag where possible, than the HLJ :wink2:

Thank B for a lekker day! Bolt performed well as usual.

I was thoroughly impressed with the air jack too. Quick and effective in the sand.

Looking forward to the next one. :yahoo:

Oom Anthony was driving the Ford... many many many years of 4x4ing count for something! The Ford had it's moments of sukkeling... but we didn't have time to take pics of those... Outrekpad is a driving trail... not a 'pics' trail! In fact I really enjoyed the trail, I'll do it again in winter when a few of the fun mud/water holes have filled up a bit... I think the Be-a-Blessing okes should look at the place as a venue for the next event!
