Of is ons net 'n klomp webweelers?

:boss: :boss:

Hennie
Ek sal daar wees, sal vrydag solank deurkom. Laat weet maar wat ek moet saambring.

Kan ek sommer my inskrywingsgeld daar vir julle betaal.
(PS My reserwe wat ek kon reel is nou vir 'n vinnige langnaweek Mosselbaai toe)

Liaan, solank jy beskikbaar is, is ek baie chuffed.

Ek het reeds jou inskrywing betaal, so sal reg wees as jy saam bring en met my reg maak - no problem :dance1: :dance1:

3) Redelike kondisie - steep inclines (brakes)

Groete

Hennie, my co-driver se dis reg hy sal ry, ons moet hom net teen more laat weet. Jonathan, will you be able to be my co-driver if need be?

Jonathan, give me a call on zero eight two six one two four seven eight two once you know that your Hilux won't be ready.

Jonathan, please keep trying to get Toybox sorted - if not, at least you can then help out with being a navvy.

-Hennie, as the x10 vehicles have 30 min to complete the obstacle, when may the next vehicle depart from the start. Only when the previous vehicle has completed the complete course?
-I think we should not allow vehicles to reverse the entire route.
-Also vehicles opting for the sissy route may not reverse and retain thier points. nly the one's that go for the extreme route.

My opinions:

Once you have chosen a route... that is it. IF you can't complete it tough or go outside the confines of the route you abandon the route and forfeit all points
Rollback 10 points (tolerance allowed, let's say a quarter wheel turn)
Touching any barrier 10 points
If at any stage you spin in one place for more than 3 seconds without progressing, 20 points
If you break the barrier tape, 30 points
If you at any stage leave the borders of the obstacle with more than two wheels, you abandoned the route and forfeit all points
If you by any stage drive over a marker (droppers the barrier tape is tied to) 50 points
If you remove your seatbelt in the obstacle forfeit all points
If you need or get any outside assistance, forfeit all points

Only one vehicle on the route at one time. The marshal shall determine when the next vehicle can start.

If at any stage you spin in one place for more than 3 seconds without progressing, 20 points: difficult to control - when is 3 seconds up? let him struggle - they have only 30min to get the tem through - vehicles not through = no points (already penalized)
If you break the barrier tape, 30 points 20 points?
If you at any stage leave the borders of the obstacle with more than two wheels, you abandoned the route and forfeit all points : there will only be tape at the extreme sections
If you by any stage drive over a marker (droppers the barrier tape is tied to) 50 points agree
If you remove your seatbelt in the obstacle forfeit all points agree - safety rule :!:
If you need or get any outside assistance, forfeit all points agree

Only one vehicle on the route at one time. The marshal shall determine when the next vehicle can start.: we can consider allowing another into the circuit, if the bumper of the previous vehicle is passed the second control point (reverse point)???
I would like to mail final set of rules today - if we ran out of time, we will have to discuss and finalize on the cell phones. I have project progress meeting at 14:00 and would like to send it out before then.

Cassie, can you put these all on our official Hilux letter head in the meantime? I didn't want to, as the everybody can copy the letter head.

My idee solank - similar sheet as rules page's page one with obstacle diagram and the on top the entrant's vehicle make and reg. number. If he does something wrong, you mark the contravention with a cross and the points you deduct next to it. Should they query your points at a later stage, you ruk out the score sheet and show him/her where they touched the banner, etc.

Sorry - lyk my ons het saam ge-post. Sien opmerking oor tyd penalty bo - ons gaan teenstand kry. Die seatbelt reel moet dalk lees - removing safety belt or driving with-out safety belt - no points.

Hennie

Ok, ek is nou weer in sirkulasie.

PS: Alle pilots, co-pilots, marshals en official camra men don't pay entry fees. I just have to submit the list with the club's officials to LAS. When you get to the gate on Sat morning, they will check against the list a will mail tonight.

Hennie, any news on the drivers that possibly can' t make it?

If Jonathan can't make it, then I (Anton Burger) will be the driver with Jonathan as possible co-driver. My original co-driver (Len Nel) will become a driver and his brother Lee Nel will be his co-driver.

Spoke to Jonathan and he needs to get his bumper sorted - not mechanical problems, but yes, if it's not right, he won't be able to join us. We have agreed that cut-off time will be 12:00 tomorrow afternoon, when he will post and inform us, if he came right.

I see Salo on the Croozer forum posted this info:

" Obstacle #7

Spoke to ATV guys today. Obstacle #7 is not a driving obstacle but a challenge. Each team of 20 will have to perform tasks in 30 min including:
1) Remove 1x vehicle wheel as if to repair puncher.
2) Repair sacrificial wheel with own tire repair kit
3) Inflate repaired tire and return own tire to vehicle. (Own compressor)
4) Fetch water is supplied canister by means of supplied "winch"
5) Make fire without the aid of matches, flint or lighter. (We need to make our own plan)
6) Make coffee on the fire
7) Read a map and provide coordinates for possible rescue.

Each team needs to ensure they have the required equipment to perform all the above tasks. "

This differs a leetle from your info Oom Hennie...?

Nah, he's a bit of the mark. :stars: If you read the link that Roland poste, you will find the correct info there. It is anyway presented by the 4WDCSA - Jonathan Hartman. Here viewtopic.php?f=51&t=12549&start=340" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you wil find more accurate info.
Tyre will have to be changed on one of their designated rim / tyre. not your own tyre - you will be given a tyre to repair with you own in-vehicle repair kit
2) Fire has to be made using kindle and a stick (provided by them) maybe we can sneak in a magnifying glass?
3) Make coffee with items provided and fetch 1 ltr of water on above the cliff/hill
4) Hoist member up an embankment with donza winch to fetch the water
5) Contact ORRU? member and Direct ORRO crew member to obstacle via compass and map
(here the team needs to work closely together to get max points, go have your ducks in a row) also, what format will they be using and then, some-one must be having a GPS?
6) This can be done simultaneously by the entire team - some do this while other do that
7) The team will be required to identify spoor of different animal - the more they id - the more points

Guys - I can't stress the following important notes enough:

The participating vehicles must have:
1) Proper recovery points in front
2) Proper recovery points rear
3) Be in a roadworthy condition

Please ensure your vehicle is on standard :beg: :beg: :beg: :beg: I would hate to see one of entries being turned away. :sobbing: :sobbing: :sobbing: We have put some good effort in from all you guys - let's see it through to the end in the same enthusiastic and positive way, as we started it :veryhappy: :veryhappy: :veryhappy:

Obstacle #7 - We need to have a tyre repair kit and compressor. When asked if we can use a magnifying glass, they shrugged their shoulders and said we need to make a plan, but no flints or matches. They will supply a soft and hard piece of wood (kindle and stick?). The other utilities will be supplied by them - the pot, water bottle, "donza" winch, harnass, etc.

I am not too sure about the contacting an directing of the ORRA/ORRU member. It will most probably by handset radio and using a map and compass to direct him. I would suggest we do have at least a scale rule, pencil and maybe a GPS.

How they will make the "spoor" is not sure. Maybe if someone has one of those "spoor" identifying books/guidelines?

This is just an idea but why not have a bit of fuel or combustible fluid at hand and a set of jumper cables. Connect the jumpers to the battery and spark it at the other end over the fluid.... whala

Hennie, ek het 'n repair kit, kompas (met vergrootglas ingebou), my pomp is useless maar sal 'n hose saambring en die spaar so 4 bar oppomp, dan kan ons daai wiel equalize. Iemand moet net 'n pomp saamvat as standby.

HI manne,

Henk bring hom saam. Ek sal ook my 72l/min kompressor saambring.
