Tjokwe Rocky Mountain Trail 13+14 Dec 08
TJOKWE ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRAIL FUN DAY
13 & 14 DECEMBER 2008
DONT MISS THIS ONE!!! This past weekend (8th November 2008) we ventured into unknown territory TJOKWE ROCKY MOUNTAIN TRAIL massive rocks, ledges, gulleys and even bigger rocks just waiting to eat up the soft underbellies of our rigs.
All jokes aside this is the best trail that I have ever been on and NO I didnt start wheeling at the beginning of the year.
Tjokwe Rocky Mountain Trail now has a new route, its a cut above the rest when it comes to cool trails but now its become even more challenging.
Lukas planned the trail using his vast knowledge of tricky situations to challenge the drivers and co-driver of the Super Truck Class and what a challenge it was. At some stages of the trail we could actually imagine him sitting in the shade of a rock smoking some indigenous plant thinking up some new crazy lines for us to take.
The Super Truck Trail felt as though it fell straight out of some hard-core yankee dvd … something in the line of The slow & the stupid or Third & Reverse.
ADRENALIN ALL THE WAY!!!
Unlike the trails that have been laid out for the Standard and Modified rigs the Super Truck Class trail is where you will receive free of any charge of-course some Moegatlepin striping and also a healthy dose of Tjokwe Rockrash of which our rigs are still recovering from.
I can already hear you guys thinking out aloud im not going to wreck my rig like those sick puppies on that trail and you are absolutely correct in thinking that way. The Super Truck Trail is there for the Super Truck & it is hardcore.
What about the Standard and Modified Rigs you may ask?
Lukas has planned the whole trail to accommodate everybody whether your rig is Standard or Modified. This is not to say that you will be bored as this trail requires just as much patience and skill to traverse but it is do-able and enjoyable. The two trails cross over one another often so there is plenty of time for everybody to enjoy the days action.
On Saturday the 13th we will be driving the original tried and tested Moegatle Trail which is about 22km long and includes obstacles like Klein Botswana, Sledgehammer and Propshaft Alley. These routes are friendly enough for all to drive. Saturday is going to be a fun drive to wet everybodies appatites for Sundays Tjokwe Trail.
Sunday morning we will tackle the new Tjokwe Rocky Mountain Trail, here the Standard and Modified rigs will drive with the Super Trucks just taking other less daunting lines, up to a point on the trail where we split up and later meet again.
This weekend promises to be one of the best off-road trail weekends of the year.
This will also be the last outing of the Rebel Series, call it our first year end wheel, so bring your families and friends along for a great 4x4 weekend not to be missed.
We will be using Alexss new camp facilities which has new ablutions, including indoor and outdoor hot showers.
Camping rates @ R100-00 per night per tent including 4 people.
Extra person per night @ R25-00
Weekend Trail rate (this includes Saturday & Sundays trail) @ R250-00 per vehicle
