Hi everyone,

am planning to see this game, would be nice to get a good bunch of our lux's parked on the school field beforehand, you all know the drill, dop/tjop, game kicks off at 1900 hours. I would say 1400 hours meet, relax, a few cold ones, wear your pink shirt if you dare

.....

If there is interest I can make a plan to make a group booking on tickets, as we all know this game fills up quick so let me know....

I must admit I forgot about the fishing weekend, to be honest we can shift that to any weekend, Rugby is alway great fun at Newlands and especially between these two teams, Tickets are normally +/- R100 bucks....parking on the school field to braai is R50 per vehicle (I think)....1400 meet time was just a suggestion and not written in stone, its just that the field can fill up quick and its a great vibe parked in there, secure, plus a quick walk to the turnstiles.....So if people add names then we can make a plan ????

You are right about that field filling up, if we don't go that time, might as well go fishing and take a portable TV to watch the game.....

Actually am picking up your dash protector from Neil today so can also leave the money in there for you when I leave it with Gysie, but whatever...., am looking forward to the game.... and the get together beforehand.... not many rugby supporters amongst the other WC Hilux crowd thought there would a lot more enthusiasm for the game

OK guys, so the weekend is nearly on us !!! I have all the tickets so see you @ Newlands sports field on Saturday, I will be getting there early to get a spot as its gonna fill up super quick, I will try and save spots but it might be difficult !!

So Stubs, I assume the meeting time is still at 2.00pm at the Groote Schuur school ground next to Newlands, we bring our chairs, food and drinks... Who is bringing the braai, and shall I bring a bag of charcoal or wood?.....Will we be able to put up a gazebo for shade, or is that overkill?

I plan to get there about 11 ish to get a spot, I have nothing else to do so I might as well go and sit there !! yes its on the school field, bring a braai stand etc, can do a gazeebo between a couple of the lux's...gonna be a long afternoon so you need to make yourself comfortable as possible LOL...I will bring a couple of Nestle Umbrellas as well...

Sounds great. Am fetching my son at 12ish so we won't be much later than you... Will speak to Hoppy and Gysie about a braai drum, they have great ones we've used in the dunes... mmmmm the long afternoon, don't want to miss the game, so need to stay fit... I know Wynand is also waiting to see what the plans are to join us... Wynand see if you can join us nice and early as well... Will bring a gazebo so we have some shade....

Can we just confirm the correct school grounds for parking? I have it as "Laerskool Groote Schuur" 126 Campground road. See map attached and let us know if this is indeed the school you had in mind.

well I have always been driven there before, so this is my first time driving on my own, but yes its Groote schuur, the one behind the railway lines and the railway stands of newlands....you come past a shell garage and then do a right, into camp ground road...entry fee is normally about R50 bucks....

What a boring game of rugby..... think there was only about 20 min of rugby in the whole game.... and of course I had to endure a lot of teasing from everybody.... but we had a great day. Thanks Stu for organizing the tickets and to the rest of the Hilux guys that attended. Was great to get together again....

thanks everyone for a great day, the place was packed, hoppy couldnt even come in with his truck...Val only just made it also...big thanks to Wynand for saving us spaces !!! the place was hectic.....the braai was lekker, we had a gazeebo up and it was a warm day !! beers were lekker cold and the wors was hot !!! the vibe was fantastic and the PINKS got a good going over, the game was tight at the end being 17 17 and a kick saved the day for the Stormers....after the game we had more wors - thanks hoppy/werner and beers and then we called it a day !!!! one thing we did learn is that when we do this again that we meet somewhere else beforehand and then come in a convoy

it was a mission to get together inside !!!
