@ Kaspaas apparently Robin attempted six times to register on the forum; I think there's a problem with the security code they give u.This happened to Armien aswell.need some help there. Thanks.

The venue is now officialy booked for the 12 th Sept.The costs are R100.00 /vehicle and R20.00 per adult.Children are free.For more info about the trail or camping please contact Willem or Mariana on 0767823481 or mail them at wilmar@compnet.co.za.Mariana asked that everybody brings the right amount,cause change might be a problem.

They will allow more than the specified 15 vehicles.What is the general feeling? Are we going to keep it cozy for club
members only?Maybe we should meet each other and stick to club members only.What say all of you?

I told her to expect a booking from the Club for the 12th when I cancelled the Be a Blessing in favour of Two Oceans in Aug.

Yeah, less than a week away so I guess we can start talking about these things...

Anybody against an early start? I am easy, but from the Cape Town side it is about an hour's drive (roadworks on the N1 before Paarl and so on) to the trail so I was going to suggest we meet at the Winelands 1-Stop outside Joostenbergvlakte at say 7am? We can have a quick Wimpy coffee and a meet and greet and then leave there at say 7:30am? That puts us at the trail approx 8:30am to do the admin etc etc.

An early start on the trail means an afternoon with a few brewski's before the sun goes down...

Because there are quite a few new guys in the group, I had a request from one of the guys that each of us make wear some kind of name-tag, with our forum name and real name. I am going to check and see if CNA has stick-on lables and then I can print up some name-tags. Therefore I sort of need to know who is in and who is out...

More' manne... at this point it is not looking good for Bolt and I... :x I stripped the tie-rods, drag link, steering rod and arms off Bolt...

Turns out the J-arm ball joint - ball is stuffed... :evil: the left steering tie-rod end is bent... :evil: and the far left side end of the steering rod is bent(not repairable)...

The J-arm ball joint is being engineered new(thanks for the advise Allan)... I've bought 2 new tie rods... and am now looking for a replacement steering rod...

So there we go...at this point I don't see much chance of everything being ready and installed by this Sat...

I was hoping to be there to film the event... not sure but maybe I should catch a ride and be official videographer of the first Cape Town Hilux Club event??

Unfortunately my lux is at home, and I am doing the reassembly of all the parts, once ready... and my time is pretty limited in the evenings...

I want to fix it all up properly, no shortcuts, so not much chance of it being ready!

Ja-nee Pieter, ek hoop ook almal is betyds daar want ek is mos nooit laat nie.

Ek dink ons maak die absolute laaste wegtrektyd 7:30 en dan kan jy ons so 'n uur tyd gee om tot by die roete te kom. MAW jy kry ons so tussen 8:30 en 9:00 daar. Hentey sal daar wees om jou en ander "reguit soontoe ganers" te verwelkom.

Everybody must please fuel up and check oil and water on Friday night.

Thanx a mil Thys, that means I can sleep late. SO I only have to leave at 06h30.
This reminds me of when I went to the army. I grew up in the Free State, so army was great. I could sleep late each morning and grew my hair. The only bad thing was that I had to wear shoes every day.

Daar is braai geriewe en as die ouens so voel kan hulle na die tyd daar braai. Ons sal wel na die tyd bymekaar kom by die braai-area en bietjie nabetragting hou rondom 'n biertjie of 2. Persoonlik gaan ek nie daar braai nie, maar ek sal bly om bietjie te gesels. Pak maar 'n paar saamies in en koeldranke/water vir die trail. Daar sal gereeld gestop word om fotos te neem en om gou 'n vinnige saamie te kou..

Just had a call from Harold. They spent yesterday at Leeuwenboschfontein and had a good chuckle over an incident with a Land Rover. I'll let him tell the whole story when he comes back from holidays. He says they are have a big jol and they are heading north tomorrow via the Tankwa to Calvinia and places beyond that. Therefore they will regrettably not be joining us on Saturday.

What a lovely Cape Town summers day! Perfect for this trailer... looking at the pics I so wish I was there... awesome... post some more please!

Well my day was also good... Bolt finally has direction... fitted recon'd J steering arm, new tie rod ends, (fixed) power steering box, recon'd draglink, reinforced track rod... i had a bit of trouble getting the steering wheel, steering box and wheels aligned, but using Allan patented method I got it sorted.

No, the hairy slow moving black bystander was a local, not one of the participants and he obviously did not join the club as he has no sticker on his back side.

I would rather not comment on the Team as this was a lovely day and we all departed in a good spirit which I do not want to spoil afterwards.
