Broken, mutilated dustbins with contents strewn around are testimony that the baboons now raid the chalets and campsites. KZN Wildlife needs to act swiftly to remove/cull the offenders before the whole troop become involved in raiding, damaging belongings and terrorising visitors. These are large baboons and pose a very real threat to small children, but will the authorities do anything before something dreadful happens?

Anyone visiting Injisuthi should write to KZN Wildlife requesting that action be taken. Hopefully with adequate public protest something will be done.

Harold, we found exactly the same situation at Augrabies on our recent trip. Luckily the baboons are not aggressive yet, but it is just a matter of time. There is at least one BIG male and a troop of females and babies raiding the campsite and the chalets. When are people going to learn not to feed animals, and not to let foodstuffs lay around where these animals can get to it.
