There are three rivers that enter the sea within the city limits and a number of streams, so the runoff from the catchment area is spread out a little, but when it comes down like it did this past week then the smaller ones swell dramatically ... the weather office reported 190mm between Tuesday and Friday (and their site usually gets a little less than the north-eastern side of the city).
