So at long last we have a new neighbour that has agreed and we are now combining the two farms into one Nature Conservancy, our farm is 67 hectares (no internal fences) the guy next door his farm is +- 150 hectares.
Once he has completed the new game fences down the one side of our farm, then he will remove the boundary fences between the two farms.
Already he has introduced Kudu and a variety of other buck, he has plans now to introduce Giraffe and some other buck as well. Because our side has flat terrain as well and lots of water.
Today Ronny and I were out at Eersterust cleaning up the picnic area, where we enjoy the views, nature and we are busy sinking holes to put up a log support frame to pitch our tent off the ground and with a corrugated IBR roof, but it will be covered with bamboo as well to make it look more rustic and give some extra shade from the sun.
Reason for IBR sink, the baboons will not destroy it.
This is Hilux country, however we are have a small TJ Jeep Wrangler that is slightly modified that we drive on the farm as well.
We took the neighbour out on a recci last week, we took him on some rough sections and he told us that we are sycho, the trails are rough, but as you afrikaanse mense se' HY IS LEKKER OM TE RY.
