Brilliant new camp near Seweweekspoort

Post by RodS »

In early October we were heading from Laingsburg towards Seweweekspoort when the magic hour of 4 pm struck and we started to look for a campsite. Two minutes later a large sign saying PORCUPINE REST CAMP appeared, so we turned in and were very happy that we had. We were among the first paying customers for this young couple who are very experienced over-landers and have decided to run a campsite as a form of off-grid existence. They have carved the sites out of the riverine bush with chainsaws, and created a little bit of Botswana in the Western Cape. No electricity (I am happy to say).

Thanks Haboob. The RTT is from Wild Earth, and we are very happy with it after two 7 day trips.

That's the way I like it!!!!
The word Dzombo is derived from the Tsonga word Dzombolo meaning ‘to wait for something that is slow in coming.
Named after one of the Magnificent Seven, sadly killed by a Poacher Oct 1995 @ 50 years old.

When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
