Warning!!! Warning!!! Warninig!!!
Hi all, I have heard of a trend regarding break-ins and theft of vehicles with remote alarms. These thieves use the standard remotes used for your remote gate or garage doors to prevent your alarm from activating.
This is how it works: When the unsuspecting driver parks his car, walks away and activate his alarm but does not take note whether it activated or not. The thief then sits close by and holds down his own remote's activating button at the same time when the driver try to activate his alarm. Guys I have tried this and it works, so please be careful. I guess the one's frequency cancels the other. Rather make sure you hear that TWEET TWEET.

I initially thought this was a hoax, until one of my colleagues had his laptop and other valuables stolen out of his car, a BMW 1 Series (Some have no taste) at the McDonalds in Fourways.

The blue ET remote (the big square one) blocks my Toyota remote ! But it does not block the cheap remote on my platkar ...
activate the "bleep" on your central locking - then you KNOW when it locks.

Re: Warning!!! Warning!!! Warninig!!!
This is very good to know!!! I havent tested it, but it surely makes sence. Thankfully I do most of my driving with the platkar which is Auto, and have double deadlocking on the door locks and is a foreign vehicle which is not favoured in our wealth redistribution society...

I have found that these locks are resistant to the remotes, and work well!

Hi
I tried to activate the beeb function but can not get it to work.
Does the 2007 Hilux work that way?

Re: Warning!!! Warning!!! Warninig!!!
I'm the paranoid type. Will get out 3 times of the car to check the Alarm light is on at home. Or worse drive to office and drive back..... Same with the car and will walk halfway into a shopping centre to turn back and check.
Wait, not paranoid, but rather obsessive compulsive!!!
