No canopy = better fuel consumption

Post by Derren »

For the past few weeks I've been driving around without my Gomad alu canopy while it is in for some modifications at Gomad - thanks Ciske ;-)

I've been getting much better fuel consumption now - about 0.5 - 0.7 km/l better. That's even without having a cover over the bak part - just open. The driving is pretty much the same.. same trips to and from work, etc, so nothing significantly different there.

So are the aerodynamics better (!) or is it just less weight ?

With a cover on you will even get better.

Not so much an aerodynamic issue unless it's a raised canopy or has a RR .... it's more about the extra weight IMO. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
