Good KZTE Mechanic in Durban

Hi

I have a 2004 Hilux 3.0KZTE D/Cab 4x4.

Does anyone know of a good mechanic in the Durban area that knows these vehicles and can look for the problems that I am having with my vehicle?

John, if you specify your hassles on this forum, the guys might be able to give you some pointers as to what to look out for if and when you find your mechanic. Lots of knowledge floating around here....

Hi

I am not very mechanically minded.

I have a vibration at 80 - 100kmh which seems to turn into a loud hum at higher speeds. Also when going over speed humps or rough ground front suspension is very noisy. Also the engine seems very rough when idleing.

Shocks, wheel balancing O.K.?
When was last service?
Fresh oil makes a difference, unless it's something more serious. Not very clued up myself either, which is why I joined the forum! :)

Had similar problems, check propshaft universal bearings and rubbers, especially rear.
engine rough idle, buggered if I know, I have the same problem,fuel pump refurbished and recalibrated, electronics diagnostic checked, possible touching of exhaust checked, engine mountings replaced, gearbox mountings replaced still rough. Has not seemed to affect performance at all so living with it until further notice :?
Front suspension the stabilizer bar arms have a washer and rubber affair going through the control arms, the washers often get punched through leaving the stabilizer floating and making a horrible racket, I replaced the washers with turned thicker units and no more hassles.
Check front stabilizer bar bushings as well
Truck now on 490 thousand Km and going strong.

He is a toyota specialist, he is very good.. I trust him with all my cars, he is well versed with the kzte, he has a Hilux as well..

He is closed for the holidays, he reopens of the 5th..
